Denise Martin is a research scientist experienced in project management, data analysis and scientific writing. Her scientific and professional experience has developed her expertise in analyzing and integrating scientific and clinical data, directing and developing scientific programs to address scientific problems, and communicating concise and pertinent scientific information.

Denise’s professional activities encompass a variety of areas, including expertise in designing scientific and medical training and education programs, preparing regulatory documents, interpreting scientific data, and preparing research papers and journal articles. In addition, she has developed marketing documents, created scientific presentations in various formats for diverse audiences, and authored advisory board reports.

Denise’s scientific experience covers a broad range of subject areas, providing an array of skills and knowledge in several disciplines. She holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Toronto at the Ontario Cancer Institute and an Honours B.Sc. in Life Sciences from Queen’s University. She has also conducted research at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France. Denise’s research has included investigation of the development of the immune system, oncogenesis in different cell types, immune regulation, and cell signalling. Through her academic activities she has attained extensive knowledge in the areas of cellular and molecular biology, genetics, genomics and gene expression profiling, bioinformatics, biochemistry and pharmacology. The breadth of her work has given her a unique and in depth understanding of infectious and autoimmune diseases, as well as the role of inflammation and the immune response in a variety of disease processes.

Denise combines her scientific acumen with exceptional communication skills and superior organizational and research abilities. Communicating proficiently in both English and French, she has used her skills to educate stakeholders and present scientific direction for project development. She has been instrumental in synthesizing and refining strategic communications for biopharmaceutical companies. In addition, Denise has engaged in coordinating and providing integrative reports for key opinion leaders.

Denise extends her interests and abilities into all aspects of her life experience. Her penchant for discovery and experiencing new contexts has led her to travel as far as India, Russia and Venezuela. She performs as a solo vocalist for variety shows and charity events and has organized and participated in multiple styles of dance expression. Denise is also trained in classical piano and she takes great pleasure in literature and studies of history and culture. Denise is an avid cyclist and enjoys hiking, volleyball and relaxing canoe trips.
